William Bloodsworth passed away on February 21, 2026, in Charleston, South Carolina. A resident of Hollywood, South Carolina, William was a 2021 Socrates Awardee and a decorated Major in the United States Army.
After returning home from military service, William was involved in a devastating car accident that further damaged his already weakened neck from service-related injuries. The accident resulted in a C3 complete spinal cord injury, leaving him a tetraplegic.
William faced his injuries with extraordinary courage. He fought tirelessly to regain the use of his fingers, hand, and arms, meeting each challenge with unwavering determination and strength. It was always a privilege to speak with him. He was deeply respected for his perseverance and steadfast resolve throughout his recovery journey.
